Of these eleven weeks, four take place at IMD, five in China with CKGSB, and two weeks are spent in other international locations.

The collaboration between CKGSB and IMD is characterized by bold commitment. From the outset, our intention has been to rethink the nature of executive learning, and to create an original and unique Executive MBA.

We begin by developing in-depth knowledge of the subjects core to business administration – marketing, finance, strategy, innovation, operations, and leadership. We approach the fundamentals of business in the 21st century by combing classroom sessions with assignments that let you apply concepts to the challenges that your company faces.

  • Invitation to CKGSB-SEGi Workshop

  • The Reform of Banking System in China

Recent policy announcements from Beijing show how determined the government is to effect financial reforms in China. Those policies include the healthy development of the capital market, as announced by the State Council in early March this year, financial reforms within the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, entry requirements for operating private banks and VAT reform. While the rising e-finance and e-commerce industries are challenging the status of traditional financial institutions, the banking system also needs to pay attention to issues such as shadow banking and the liberalization of interest rates.

In order to explore how these challenges can be met and discuss the future direction of the banking system, the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) and the SEGi are jointly organizing a workshop on December 8, 2014, with the theme “The Reform of the Banking System in China”. Professor Ou-Yang Hui, the Dean's Distinguished Chair Professor of Finance at CKGSB, will speak about recent banking conditions in China, its upcoming risks and how infrastructural reforms could affect the global and key markets in Asia.

About the Speaker:

Ou-Yang Hui

Professor Ou-Yang Hui serves as the Co-Director of the Research Center on Financial Innovation and Wealth Management at CKGSB and was voted the best teacher by Duke’s Global EMBA Class of 2004. He won the Barclays Global Investors/Michael Brennan Runner-Up Award for the best paper published in the Review of Financial Studies in 2003 as well as the best paper award (joint with fellow CKGSB Professor Henry Cao) presented by the Society of Quantitative Analysts in 2005. Prof. Ou-Yang’s academic research focuses on the development of asset pricing and corporate finance models. He has previously served as an Associate Professor at Duke University and an Assistant Professor at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Before joining CKGSB, Prof. Ou-Yang served as a managing director at UBS. His team developed various innovative structured products, such as “Hedging and Outperforming Inflations in China, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand”, “Asset Allocation using Macro Signals”, and “Relative Value Commodity Strategies”. In addition, he provided customized solutions for major UBS clients such as utility companies, airlines, and banks. He also served previously as a managing director at Lehman Brothers and Nomura Securities, where he headed Quantitative Strategies, Quantitative Credit Research, and Lehman Indexes respectively. Prof. Ou-Yang holds a Ph.D. in Finance from U.C. Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Tulane University.
